Types of germicidal lamps

There are several types of UV lamps for disinfection depending on use and the power needed. Among others there are variants with and without ozone generation, compact size, for use in air, water, etc. We list the most common:

Low pressure

Linear fluorescent lamps

They consist of a glass tube that emits short wave ultraviolet light.

Main applications: residential water use, air purifiers …

Compact fluorescent lamps

Their use are practically the same as with linear fluorescent but with the advantage of being much more compact and with a single connection point.

Applications: Ponds, insertion in air ducts or vents…

Range mini

With a smaller diameter than the standard germicidal fluorescent meet the strictest waste regulations. Variants with circuitry on one or both ends.

Applications: Treatment of municipal water systems, swimming pools, air collectors…

Mid pressure

These mercury discharge lamps are up to 120 W/cm and emit a broader spectrum than the previous ones, in some cases even emit below 240 nm where ozone is formed.

Applications: Treatment of municipal wastewater, industrial process…

Amalgam

Amalgam lamps combine the advantages of the above lamps, providing a high efficiency and with low depreciation UVC emission.

Applications: water processing units, reduction of organic compounds (ozone emission versions), treatment of ducts.
